Nintendo Issues Apology Over My Nintendo Store

Nintendo Australia has sent out an email to attendees of Nintendo Live 2024 Sydney apologising for how the “My Nintendo Store” was handled during the event. Those in attendance were handed out tickets with very specific time intervals in which they could visit the store to make purchases, meaning many were left out. Queues for the store were said to be hours long, with many visitors taking to social media to voice their complaints.

We were lucky to be some of the first in the door on Sunday, queuing up for the event almost an hour early with Warp Passes in hand, and managed to get into the store as soon as the event opened. While we were in the store, it was announced that the 10 am allocations were depleted, less than 10 minutes after opening, meaning many patrons were denied entry into the store unless they wanted to wait around hours.

I should state that Nintendo Staff were exceptional in listening to complaints and assuring people that they will get a chance to buy online in the near future, something the email states is being worked on. I’m not really sure how Nintendo could have handled the store differently aside from a completely online solution to manage inventory, and thankfully the rest of the event was an absolute blast to attend. If you missed out, you can see what we got up to here, and you can see the email below.
